BJ NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: BJ   Breed: Beagle

Approximate Age: 2 years     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 35 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs, kids

Currently Living at boarding.

Special adoption considerations: Apartment and condo owners should note that some but not all Beagles can be vocal.

Friendly and affectionate, BJ is eager to begin his new life in the big city. You see, BJ spent most of his early years living outdoors. This idea of being inside a house is like a dream come true for BJ. And oh boy, is he ever excited about it!

BJ's a playful dog who gets along great with everyone - adults, kids, other dogs. We're not sure how he feels about cats but if that is a concern for you we can test him out. Just let us know when you apply to adopt.

Beagles are hearty pups who do well in all sorts of weather and can walk for miles. Most are a little too short to go jogging with but BJ would love to accompany you on a trip to the park or play at the dog park. The exercise will help BJ keep in shape as Beagles are notorious chowhounds. Expect some pitiful looks if you try to enjoy take-out pizza whenever BJ's around.

BJ's also a first-class snuggler so hanging out on the couch after his exercise should suit him just fine. Beagles are known for being loyal so BJ's love comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Like most shelter dogs, BJ may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained. Beagles are devilishly clever so taking BJ to obedience class will reap rewards for both of you.

At the shelter BJ tested positive for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease common in dogs from the warm Southern states. Many dogs recover from Ehrlichia without treatment while others need just a few weeks of antibiotics.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
