Pleasure to Meetcha! Are you my new family?

JAX NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Jax    Breed: Wire haired terrier mix

Approximate Age: 3 years     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 15 pounds

Has Lived With: dogs

Currently Living at: A scary shelter in rural South Carolina. Jax can't wait to come to DC to meet his forever family.

Special adoption considerations: Being treated for heartworm in South Carolina.

Meet Jax! This outgoing 3-year-old wire haired terrier mix boy is as sweet as can be! At about 15 pounds, he is very kind, energetic and affectionate toward everyone he meets! Jax is good with dogs, but we haven't had a chance to see him interact with kids or cats yet. If you have them, let us know, and we'll find out more.

Jax has a playful, active and curious personality and will need mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis. He loves playing with other dogs and always looks forward to his dog walks, so trips to the dog park or doggie daycare would be great!

Jax is still a young dog, and he will need a committed owner to provide training and exercise to be a well-behaved dog.

Jax is dreaming of finding a warm and loving forever home! All he needs is a caring person or family to give him all the love and care (and treats!) he deserves!

Like most shelter dogs, Jax may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.

Jax has tested positive and is being treated for for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Emily Jagdmann at emilyj@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
