Sweet fluffy little Doug is looking for his forever home!

***Come meet Doug and other, great adoptable dogs this Sun. (Feb. 19) from 12-2 pm at the Petco 5825 Leesburg Pike, Bailey's Crossroads, VA 22041)***

Name: Doug     Breed: corgi/terrier mix?

Approximate Age: 1 year     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 13.5 lb

Has Lived With:  other dogs

Currently Living at: local NoVa foster home, came from South Korea on 1/25/17

Special adoption considerations: must have second dog in the family because of shyness.

Introducing 12.5 lb bundle of love, Doug! Doug has definitely had a tough time of it, but this little boy's luck has now changed!!  He is one of 200 dogs presently being rescued from the South Korean Dog Meat Market. Doug has just arrived in the DC area on Jan 25th and is now settling into his NoVa foster home. His foster Mom says that though he is shy, he also seems anxious to make friends and to be near you. He likes to sit by her feet, lightly touching her as she works. She also said that he seems to really love people, in spite of where he came from! He obviously has a gentle soul. After two baths to wash all the dirt and grim off of him he now has a gorgeous thick, soft white coat! (So far he does not seem to e a big shedder)  Doug  will need a family with another dog to help show him the ropes of family life. (HE LOVES all other dogs!) He will also need someone willing to continue giving him some time and training so he can continue to learn how to become all that he was meant to be.

This little fellow is filled with love and he is obviously looking for someone to share it with. If you have another dog and think your home would be complete with a little Dougie added to it, please contact the Adoption Coordinator listed below (Sue). with your completed questionnaire. Because Doug is ready and happy to finally go home, for forever.

Like most shelter dogs, Doug may need a refresher on housetraining. He is working on his crate training.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please FIRST download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Sue C at!
