What A Sweet and Handsome Pup!

***Come meet Bruno and other, great adoptable dogs this Sun. (Apr. 2) from 12 – 2 PM at the Unleashed by Petco (5400 Lee Hwy, Arlington, VA 22207)***

Check out this video of Bruno on his first walk:!

Name: Bruno    Breed: Chihuahua mix

Approximate Age: 1 year     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 14 lb

Has Lived With:  other dogs

Currently Living at: A wonderful foster home in the greater DC metro area.

Special adoption considerations: must have second dog in the family because of shyness.

FOSTER UPDATE: Bruno has learned and loves to walk on his leash, never pulling. He is no longer terrified of all humans and actually walks up to other dogs that are walking their humans. He loves to cuddle next to me on the couch when I watch TV or read a book.  He has a dog bed in our office which he uses to keep us company when we’re working. When we come home he now  greets us with a dance and a lot of tail wagging, and has earned full run of the house.  During the day he entertains himself with the favorite toy of the day which he selects from the toy basket. At night he knows his crate is his place (we keep it next to the side of the bed). He runs right into it when we head to the bedroom.  Bruno is slowly blossoming into a little fur ball of love.

Introducing 14 lb handsome nugget Bruno! Bruno has definitely had a tough time of it, but this little boy's luck has now changed!!  He is one of 200 dogs  rescued from the South Korean Dog Meat Market by Humane Society International. Bruno has just arrived in the DC area and is now settling into his new foster home. Bruno will need a family with another dog to help show him the ropes of family life. (HE LOVES all other dogs!) He will also need someone willing to continue giving him some time and training so he can continue to learn how to become all that he was meant to be.

This little fellow is filled with love and he is obviously looking for someone to share it with. If you have another dog and think your home would be complete with a little Bruno added to it, please contact the Adoption Coordinator listed below (Emily). with your completed questionnaire. Because Bruno is ready and happy to finally go home, for forever.

Like most shelter dogs, Bruno may need a refresher on housetraining. He is working on his crate training.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please FIRST download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Emily Jagdmann at!
