Introducing 14 lb handsome nugget Bruno! Bruno has definitely had a tough time of it, but this little boy's luck has now changed!! He is one of 200 dogs rescued from the South Korean Dog Meat Market by Humane Society International. Bruno has just arrived in the DC area and is now settling into his new foster home. Bruno will need a family with another dog to help show him the ropes of family life. (HE LOVES all other dogs!) He will also need someone willing to continue giving him some time and training so he can continue to learn how to become all that he was meant to be.
This little fellow is filled with love and he is obviously looking for someone to share it with. If you have another dog and think your home would be complete with a little Bruno added to it, please contact the Adoption Coordinator listed below (Emily). with your completed questionnaire. Because Bruno is ready and happy to finally go home, for forever.
FOSTER UPDATE: Bruno is still terrified of humans but yesterday his actually came when I called him and licked my hand. He wags his tail when he sees me but tinkles on his bed when I try and pick him up. (makes for a lot of towel washing). That being said, I’m keeping my fingers crossed but I think he’s well on his way to being housetrained/housebroken. He went from doing everything in his crate two days ago to doing all his business outside, panic tinkle aside. He never showed any interest in the pee pads. We are working on walking on a leash and though a little scared of his surrounding, he has made great progress. He has no hair on his hind legs including lower thighs. Right side is the worst. He hasn’t barked, though sometimes wakes up at night crying but quiets down when he hears my voice. He does that once or twice a night. Though he appears so frighten of everything, he doesn’t seem to mind the noise my hair dryer or vacuum cleaner. He loves my Chloe and is very interested in bonding with other dogs. He’s a real sweetie and is is definitely going to be a good addition to someone’s home!
Like most shelter dogs, Bruno may need a refresher on housetraining. He is working on his crate training. The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please FIRST download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Emily Jagdmann at firstname.lastname@example.org!
