Beautiful Blue Ready for her Forever Home!

***Come meet Blue and other, great adoptable dogs this Sun. (Apr. 2) from 12 – 2 PM at the Unleashed by Petco (5400 Lee Hwy, Arlington, VA 22207)***

BLUE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Blue   Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier Mix

Approximate Age: 2 years    SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 65 lbs

Has Lived With: other dogs, kids

Currently Living at: dc foster

Blue is a sweet 2 year old Staffy mix. She weighs about 65 lbs and, because of her age, is done growing. We don't know how this loving girl ended up in a shelter but it hasn't dampened her spirits one bit (look at that big smile!) and she can't wait to meet her forever family!

Blue will need plenty of exercise and playtime each day to be a happy and healthy pup. She would love to go on daily long walks, hikes and regular trips to the dog park. After she's tuckered out, Blue loves cuddling up for a nice nap and belly rub. She can't wait to go to obedience training with her new family so that she can bond with her people and become her very best self!

Blue is good with other dogs AND kids so she'd be a great addition to an existing pack or happy to soak up all the attention as an only dog. The nice folks at Lucky Dog don't know how Blue is with cats but if you're interested, let us know and we can try to find out!

Foster update: She's doing great! She's never lived in a home before now, so we are having to potty train and crate train. She's doing great in the crate, if she's close to others. Last night we decided to move the crate into my daughter's room and she did amazing! I think she just doesn't like being left (totally understandable). House training is difficult but not something we were totally unprepared for so we are working on it. She's a bundle of energy! She balances Gizmo quite well, and they are getting along great. She's a little nervous around my husband and older son, she's good with JD but will go running from him too. I think it's a female/male thing versus any issues with them individually. She loves just about every toy we give her and hasn't shown aggression towards anything or about anything.

Like most shelter dogs, Blue may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Meg at megh@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
