Malala

Friendly, sweet girl looking for a FUREVER home!

Come meet Malala and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (May 28) from 12-2 pm at the Rockville Petco (1507 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852)!!!!!

MALALA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Malala    Best Guess for Breed: Labrador Retriever mix

Best Guess for Age: 2 years old as of 2/7/2017    SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 32 pounds

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: DC area foster. Malala needs a forever home!

Special adoption considerations: Malala has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, or EPI--a highly treatable condition in which the pancreas doesn't produce enough enzymes, so she is on a special food and medicines that costs approximately $200/month. With proper management, however, she can expect to live a totally normal, long, and happy life!

Hola! My name is Malala, and I arrived from Puerto Rico not too long ago! I am a 2-year-old, 32-pound Labrador mix, and as you can tell from the big smile on my face, I cannot WAIT to find a forever home of my very own!

I can't wait to go on long walks with you, visit my friends at the dog park and around the neighborhood, and snuggle up with you on the couch to watch TV or read a great book! I have been living with a nice foster here in the DC area, but I sure am ready for something a little more permanent!

I have a condition with my pancreas that requires special food and medicine, which can run about $200 a month. As long as my condition is properly managed, though, I am perfectly content and happy! I did well with cats back in Puerto Rico, so maybe with a refresher, I'd do well with yours, too! My foster back in Puerto Rico said I LOVED kids, and I love meeting them at events now. Ah, ninos! So fun! Finally, I would love it if you would sign me up for obedience classes, so I can learn all my basic manners and show you what a well-behaved young lady I can be!

From Malala's foster: "Malala loves everyone and every dog she meets! She loves to play fetch, go for walks, and snuggle on the couch. She is super sweet and is a very gentle dog. She has met dogs of all shapes and sizes and gets along with everyone. She does well in her crate during the day, and does well with her group walks with the dog walker. Also her foster from Puerto Rico sent the sweetest note about her, and said she lived with three cats, dogs, and kids and she did great. Malala is also housebroken at this point.[AC Note: All newly adopted dogs can be expected to have a few accidents when brought to their new furever home, however. ;-) ]"

So what do you think? Are you ready for a sweet girl like me to wag on into your life? I sure am! Please fill out and submit an application for me today!

Like most shelter dogs, Malala may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at lizk@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
