ALF NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Alf Breed: Shepherd mix

Approximate Age: 14 weeks as of 2/7/17 SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 20 lbs as of 2/7/17

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: DC foster

Special adoption considerations: Young puppy, frequent potty breaks and socialization needed, commitment to neuter, commitment to socialization classes, 2nd dog required, additional vaccinations needed.

Meet Alf! This 14-week-old shepherd mix boy is as sweet as can be! At about 20 pounds, he is very kind, energetic and affectionate toward everyone he meets! Although Alf gets along well with dogs, we haven't had a chance to see him interact with kids or cats yet. If you have them, let us know, and we'll find out more.

Alf has a playful, active and curious personality and will need mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis.

FOSTER UPDATE:

Alf is as sweet as can be and LOVES his canine foster siblings. He is extremely curious and keeps himself busy by being a shadow to the other dogs in the home as well as his foster mom! We are working on our house training but he catches on quickly! He sleeps quietly in his crate at night, loves treats, and spending his days outside laying in the backyard and chasing the other dogs around. I think Alf would do great in any family that is patient and willing to work with his shyness. He is extremely loving and a great cuddler. Alf is still a puppy, and he will need a committed owner to provide training and exercise to be a well-behaved dog.

Alf is not old enough to have had all of his vaccines. It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, he is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Due to his young age, Alf has not been neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 4/7/17!

Like most puppies, Alf will need to work on his housetraining. Alf will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog!
