ALTON NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Approximate Age: 14 weeks as of 2/7/17     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 20 lbs as of 2/7/17 

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: DC foster

Special adoption considerations: 2nd Dog Required for Adoption; Young puppy, frequent potty breaks and socialization needed, commitment to neuter, commitment to socialization classes, additional vaccinations needed.  

Meet Alton! This 14-week-old shepherd mix boy is as sweet as can be! At about 20 pounds, he is very kind, energetic and affectionate toward everyone he meets! Although Alton gets along well with dogs, we haven't had a chance to see him interact with kids or cats yet. If you have them, let us know, and we'll find out more.

Alton has a playful, active and curious personality and will need mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis. 

FOSTER UPDATE:  Alton is sweet puppy and loves to cuddle!  His confidence is growing everyday and with patience and training he will be a great dog for any family!  Alton really loves to companionship of his foster siblings and looks to them for puppy guidance in Doggie 101!  He is now following me around the house like my shadow!  He has been around young kids and did well as long as they were gentle with him.  He is enjoying his food now and has mastered the doggie tunnel!!  Smart boy!

Alton is still a puppy, and he will need a committed owner to provide training and exercise to be a well-behaved dog.

Alton is not old enough to have had all of his vaccines.  It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time.  Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, he is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Due to his young age, Alton has not been neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 4/7/17!

Like most puppies, Alton will need to work on his housetraining. Alton will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog!
