Super Sweet Girl Looking for Her Forever Home!

TANYA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Tanya    Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd mix

Best Guess for Age: 1 year     SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 40 pounds

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: dc boarding

Hi! My name is Tanya, and I'm a 1-year-old, 40-pound Shepherd mix! I've just arrived in the DC area to find my furever family... maybe that's with you?

My life started out a little rrrrruff! I recently had a litter of 5 puppies, but that doesn't get me down one bit! I have all the love and butt wiggles and licks to give, and I don't care who knows it! I can't wait to go on long walks, maybe on some trips to the dog park, and who knows what else?! I'm a young girl--I'm up for anything. On the other hand, when I do get tired out, I sure am looking forward to a nap on a cozy bed of my own... or maybe on YOUR bed! (Hee-hee!)

I'm not sure how I'll do with cats or kids yet, but we can figure that out when I arrive. Additionally, I am very much looking forward to your signing me up for obedience classes so I can learn some manners and show you what a good girl I can be.

Outing Volunteer Report:"She was energetic and eager to explore. I noticed she particularly liked grass and took every opportunity to lay down on the grass when we passed by a green area (she also did try to eat some grass, but only on a few occasions). She was pretty good on the leash–– didn't try to chase anything.

We stopped to say hi to a shy one-year old and Tanya was great with her. I gave the little girl a treat to give to Tanya and Tanya licked it off her hand and gave her a kiss on the cheek in return."

So, whaddya say? Are you ready for a sweet girl like me with a whole bunch of love to give? Go ahead and fill out and submit an application for me today!

Like most shelter dogs, Tanya may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

Tanya was tested positive and has been treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at lizk@luckydoganimalrescue.org!

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.  That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament
