PANDA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME ASAP!!

Name:  Panda      Breed:  Shepherd mix

Approximate Age:  5 years     SEX:  female

Approximate Weight:  28.6 lbs

Has Lived With:  dogs

Currently Living at:  a DC area foster home -- Panda needs a foster or forever home ASAP!!

Special adoption considerations:  Panda was born and grew up on a dog meat farm in Northern Thailand.  She would do best in a home where there is already a resident dog(s)!

Panda was rescued from a dog meat farm in northern Thailand.  Thousands and thousands of dogs have been stolen from the streets of Thailand over the past 30 years.  Street dogs and pets are lured and stuffed into wire cages where they can barely breathe.

Terrified, they travel for days and days with no food or water. At their final destination they are unloaded from their cages, tortured and boiled alive and their skins ripped from their bodies in the twisted belief that this will make their meat taste better.  We hope that by saving dogs like Panda, we can bring more of the world's attention to this horrific cruelty, and bring it to an end for thousands of dogs just like Panda!

More about Panda:

She has a small eye (left eye) - this most likely is a congenital defect and not painful.

She is good at walking on the lead, friendly and calm. Very sweet girl and good with the other dogs in her run.  Panda is around 5 years old, and although she is a little scared right now, she likes to be around people and other dogs.  In spite of the suffering Panda has been through, she is still happy for attention, and is hoping that someone will see fit to give her a loving home of her own.

Because of her cruel beginnings, Panda needs another dog in the home to help her understand that she's safe.  So, we prefer that she be adopted to a home where there is a already a resident dog or dogs.

At around 5 years old, Panda will need lots of exercise to stay happy and healthy.  And like all dogs we adopt out, she'll need to go to obedience classes to build a strong bond with her people, and help her become a well behaved companion or family member.

Like most dogs, Panda may need a refresher on her house training when she gets to a new home.  She will also need to go to obedience school so she can continue to be a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and e-mail it to at Sheila at sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP!
