Are you my new family? I am looking for my forever home!

Eleanor NEEDS A  FOREVER HOME!!

Name: Eleanor     Best Guess for  Breed: shepherd mix

Best Guess for Age: 3 years old as of 03/10/17   SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 50 lbs

Has Lived With: dogs

Currently Living at: DC foster

Hello I am Eleanor! I was in a scary shelter and I had idea how I got there. But no worries the good people of Lucky Dog have selected me to come to the DC area. I am currently in DC on the look out for my new humans! I am looking forward to meeting my new humans with my smarts by going to obedience classes.  The other dogs in the scary shelter have told me so many things about the outside world. I have been told about belly rubs, toys, and dog parks which all sound like so much fun.

I have been in foster for a few weeks and I have a few updates:

" I live with my foster parents right now in DC and love to hike, play, and snuggle! I’m a quiet girl who loves new people and belly rubs. The only things I don’t like are squirrels, they’re too fast! Other than that, I’m great on a leash. I am very smart and like learning new things like “sit.” I love to watch birds and other humans from the window in my foster home – so much to see in the city! I’m already housetrained and crate trained, so I can adjust quickly to my future forever home! I am looking forward to impressing my new humans with my smarts by going to obedience classes".

Eleanor is good with other dogs so she’d be a great addition to an existing pack or happy to soak up all the attention as an only dog! We haven’t had a chance to see her interact with kids or cats yet, so if you have them just let us know, and we’ll do our best to find out!

Like most shelter dogs, Eleanor  may need a refresher on housetraining. She  is likely crate trained.

Eleanor has tested positive and been treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Cathy at cathyd@luckydoganimalrescue.org!

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.  That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or  temperament
