Howdy! I'm Sunday--a 2-year-old, 35-pound Shepherd mix. I found out recently that I'll be living in the DC area, and my tail's been wagging ever since!

I'm a pretty typical young girl... I have LOTS of energy, I like running around, and I LOVE playing with my friends. I'm sure looking forward to some nice long walks, or trips to the dog park, or maybe even some hiking around your area! On the other hand, when I get tired I LOVE a good nap in a sunny spot on the floor, on a cozy bed, or maybe even on YOUR couch or bed--hee hee! Do you need a helper in the kitchen? I'll be right there to take care of any food you accidentally drop--you can count on me!

I've been living with cats while recovering from my heartworm treatment and have been doing just great! I'm not quite sure how I'll do with kids, but we can figure that out when I get to town! Also, I want to make you proud of what a good girl I am, so I would love it if you'd sign me up for some obedience classes so I can practice my manners. Sit, stay, wait, down... I'm a scholarly girl, and I want to learn them all!

Like most shelter dogs, Sunday may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

SUNDAY  tested positive and has been treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.
