Lucky Me! I have a committed adopter already!

Houston already has a committed adopter, but hopes you will consider adding one of his other Lucky Dog friends to your family!

Name: Houston    Breed: Labrador Retriever mix

Approximate Age: 10 months     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 45-50 lbs

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: Shelter.

Well, yee-haw! I'm Houston--a 10-month-old, 45-50 pound Black Lab mix, and guess what, y'all? I'm coming to the DC area real soon! I haven't stopped smiling since I found out!

The first thing you should know about me is I am a young boy with lots of puppy energy! I'm going to need long walks--and if you're a runner that might even be better! I'd also love hikes through the woods, trips to the dog park to make new friends and burn off some of my energy, and running errands with you. Did you know Starbucks has puppachinos for my kind? I did!! Let's go! On the other hand, if you get me good and tired, I'm going to be ready for a nice long nap... on a cozy bed of my own, maybe... or on YOUR bed... or in a sunny spot on the floor... But don't worry. If you have an emergency and need me -- say, you drop a little bit of dinner on the floor while you're cooking -- I've got your back and I will be RIGHT THERE!

I'm not sure how I will do with cats or kids yet, but we can certainly find that out when I roll into town. Additionally, since I'm such a young boy and sometimes don't know whether I'm coming or going, I sure would like it if you'd sign me up for some obedience classes so I can learn to sit, stay, walk nicely on a leash--all the things a good boy should know to be a polite, contributing member of society.

So whaddya say? I know y'all want me to join your family right now, so how about you fill out and submit an application for me today?

Like most shelter dogs, Houston may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at lizk@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
