Hi, I'm Lucy! I come from down south but I'm ready to tackle living in the big city. I hear stories about all these wonderful people who are trying hard to find the dog that's just right for them. Well look no further! Like my friend Snoopy, I am just the best all-around American dog you could ever ask for. Did you know that the Beagle has been ranked among the top 10 most popular dogs in America for decades? To have that much staying power you know we must be doing something right!

Sweet little Lucy is a calm and happy girl who would love to have a home of her own. She's not asking for much. Just someone who will love her and take her out to enjoy the great outdoors, whether that means walks around town or trips to the park where she can keep those short legs moving. Like most Beagles Lucy is a bit of a chowhound. She's tipping the scales at 27 lbs so it wouldn't hurt her to lose a few. Care to make her your new workout buddy? She'll make sure you get up and out every single day, no excuses!

At four years old Lucy is past the bouncy puppy stage. She's a grown-up little gal who has seen a thing or two and wants to settle down for good. In turn she's ready to supply you with an endless supply of love and loyalty.

Foster Mom Notes: This little girl is a total lovebug. She will follow you around the house and stop and take a nap while you are working. She enjoys walks (she thinks of them more as "sniffs") and happily greets everybody we run into with a happy tail wag and her lovely big soulful eyes. She doesn't bark often but when she does (such as when she sees another beagle that lives down the road) it is pretty loud. She loves to happily wriggle in the grass or on a rough carpet, and she has recently discovered toys!. Lucy would be a great addition to any household! She also really likes kids.

Like most shelter dogs, Lucy may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. She is doing great in her foster's home! She does fine with other dogs and kids but has not yet been tested with cats. She may benefit from some obedience training to become the best dog she can be.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
