Great big new world!

GLORY NEEDS A FUREVER HOME!!

If you are viewing GLORY’s bio on Petfinder, please click below for more information.

Name:   Glory        Best Guess as to Breed:  Retriever mix

Best guess as to age:  13 weeks as of 4/13

Approximately Weight:  12 lbs as of 5/2

Has lived with: dogs

Currently Living at:  dc foster

Special adoption considerations: very young, no 9-5ers unless proof of twice a day dog walker, Glory also has a special condition called "megaesophoagus," which means her esophagus does not push food normally down her throat.  She does fine if she eats in an upright position -- either standing or in a Bailey's Chair.  Although this makes Glory "special needs," she is a wonderful puppy with a lot of love to give!

Hello, my name is Glory and I'm a 13 week old, 12 pound, female, retriever puppy. My sister, Grace, and I are looking for our forever homes. Don't get us wrong, we love our foster home, but we'd like homes of our very own. We're really excited to be in DC and hopefully find someone to love us, but we're kind of nervous, too. Everything is so big and new and different! We're looking for someone to cuddle us close and tell us everything will be okay. Are you that person?

I've heard a little about furever homes from some of the bigger dogs in the shelter. They sound like a dream come true! I've heard you sometimes get your very own little bed and some toys to share and even some yummy treats. But I'm most looking forward to the cuddles and kisses and love. I just can't wait for a family or person of my own to love with my whole puppy heart!

I'm pretty little still, so I'll need some help learning the ropes. I can do it though, I'm really smart and I just want to make you happy and proud of me. I think puppy kindergarten at an obedience school sounds really great. I like nice long walks and trips to the dog park, too, if it's not too much to ask. Do you think you can help me navigate this great big new world?

Due to her young age, Glory has not been spayed.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the  adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 9/1/17!

Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day.

Like most puppies, Glory will need to work on her housetraining. Glory will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of transport from the shelter and routine vetting, including heart worm treatment, vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our  Adoption Questionnaire  and email it to   Kristen at kristenn@luckydoganimalrescue.org.
