Sweet girl looking for you!

JAN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Jan     Best Guess for Breed: Boxer mix

Best Guess for Age: 12-14 weeks as of 4/15/15     SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 15 pounds as of 4/15/17 3rd shot given 4/30/17

Has Lived With:  other dogs, cats

Currently Living at: A DC foster home! Jan is looking for a forever home!

Special Considerations:   Young puppy, frequent potty breaks and socialization needed, additional vaccinations needed. No kids.  I would do best in a home with structure and boundaries.

Hey Good lookin'! Yes, you! Don't you want little ol' pretty me?  I can be your queen who you dote on hand and foot!  Most of all I just want to love you. Can you handle that?  I hear that there are lots of families out there looking for a pup just like me and I am soo excited! I want to jump and run and chase a ball or is that my tail? Cause I just LOOOVVVE to play! Did I hear the word play? Let's play! I am looking forward to going to puppy school so I can be the best pup for you and make you very proud.  Right now I get sooo excited so I need a little training so I can learn the proper way to behave. I am also looking forward to learning how to walk on a leash since I don't know how to do that yet because I am so young.

They already know I am good with other pups and cats, but I'm not really sure how to behave around kids, so I'd do best in a home without children under 15.

Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day.

Jan is not old enough to have had all of her vaccines.  It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time.  Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, she is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Due to her young age, Jan has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than July 15, 2017.

Like most puppies, Jan will need to work on her housetraining. Jan will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Kristen at kristenn@luckydoganimalrescue.org
