Special Considerations: Due to Andy's past, he may need some warming up to strangers. Andy also does best in a home with an already existing dog.

Meet Andy! He is a sweet young dog who is approximately 2 years old. While outside, he is adventurous and loves long walks with his nose sniffing the grass, the trees, and the bushes the whole time! He also loves meeting other dogs, big or small. With young puppies that playfully try to nip at his legs or jump on his face in excitement, he is calm and patient.

Andy is even good with cats! He seems to understand the difference between small dogs and cats. With dogs, his tail starts wagging and he greets them appropriately while with cats, he tends to ignore them. 

Though he is young and could spend hours on walks or in the dog park if he had the choice, he is also very calm indoors. He seems to like to find a quite corner to lie down but shows that he appreciates petting and affection by thumping his tail against the ground when he sees you or coming to greet you at the door when you come home. Don’t worry about this guy chewing your furniture or surfing your counter looking for food; Andy is a very polite house guest and very easy going.

Andy would love a person or family to adopt him that will treat him with the love and compassion he so deserves so he can continue to come out of his shell and let his wonderful and sweet personality shine. He is also looking for a companion brother or sister dog to help boost his confidence. Come visit Andy at a Lucky Dog adoption event and you’ll probably find him sitting in his fosters lap!

Like most shelter dogs, Andy may need a refresher on house training. He is likely crate trained.
