This adorable girl needs a home!!!

TULIP NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Tulip      Breed:  lab/pointer mix

Approximate Age:  2 years     SEX:  female

Approximate Weight:  50 lbs

Has Lived With:  dogs, kids

Currently Living at:  DC Foster Home -- Tulip needs a forever home ASAP!!

Meet Tulip!  Tulip is around 2 years old and a happy, super-sweet girl!  She is just a love.  She thinks she is a big lap dog and will crawl into your lap to give kisses.  We love this girl!  She is incredibly huggable and does very well with other dogs.  She used to live with 6 other dogs and got along with everyone...she even passed her cat test so we think she could live in a home with cats, too!

Although she was abandoned through no fault of her own that doesn't seem to bother Tulip and she has a lovely demeanor.  This diamond in the "ruff" is ready be your new best friend...she can't wait to get out of the shelter and start a new, better life with someone who loves her!

Tulip says...Hi there, everyone!  They call me Tulip, and they say that I'm just the cutest, sweetest, most loving girl EVER!!  Do you have room in your heart and home for a pup like me??  I have a beautiful, white coat that is super-soft…great for everyone to pet me (hint hint). :-)  I weigh about 50 pounds (not TOO big), which makes me a perfect size for an apartment, house or condo!!  They say I am probably some sort of lab/pointer mix…all I know is that I'm a happy pup and I love to play, get lots of pets, and give lots of doggie kisses!

Read below for more info on Tulip, and email sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP if you're interested in her!

Tulip says:  I don't know why, but somehow I ended up in this scary shelter.  It's dark, cold and really loud in here and I keep waiting for a nice person to come get me.  But each time I see someone, they walk right by and I'm still by myself. :(   Luckily, the shelter staff say I am one of their favorites, but they hope that someone will step up and adopt me very SOON so I can get out of here and to safety in a loving home!

Don't you think I would look really cute as your new Facebook cover photo, romping around in the sunshine and rolling in the grass??  And how I'd love to snuggle up by you after a long hike.  I just really want to run, play, then snuggle, nap and dream of all the adventures we'll have together.  I would just LOVE trips to the dog park and hikes in the woods -- I love to discover new things!

Tulip is an awesome dog and makes friends with everyone she meets!  At around 2 years old, she will need lots of exercise to stay happy and healthy.

Tulip's new person or family will need to make sure she gets lots of socialization and playtime with other dogs and people to keep up the good social skills she has already!  And like all dogs we adopt out, she'll need to go to obedience classes to build a strong bond with her people, and help her become a well behaved companion or family member.  Tulip seems to like all the people she meets, and can't wait to wiggle her way into your heart and home.

Like most young dogs, Tulip may need a refresher on her house training when she gets to a new home.  She will also need to go to obedience school so she can continue to be a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and e-mail it to at Sheila at sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP!
