Meet Hunter!  Hunter is around 3 years old and is a super-handsome, friendly guy!  Although he was abandoned through no fault of his own, that doesn't seem to bother him and he has a lovely demeanor.  Hunter is ready be your new best friend...he can't wait to get out of the shelter and start a new, better life with someone who loves him!

Hunter says...Hi there, everyone!  They call me Hunter, and they say that I'm just the cutest, sweetest, most loving boy EVER!!  Do you have room in your heart and home for a pup like me??  I have a beautiful soft and kind of fluffy coat...people say I am very handsome!  My fur is super-soft…great for everyone to pet me (hint hint). :-)  I weigh about 85-90 pounds so I'm definitely a big guy, but I still think I'm the perfect size for an apartment, house or condo!!  They say I am probably some sort of Flat-coated retriever mix…all I know is that I'm a happy pup and I love to play, get lots of pets, and give lots of doggie kisses!

Read below for more info on Hunter, and email sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP if you're interested in him!

Hunter says:  I don't know why, but somehow I ended up in this scary shelter.  It's dark, cold and really loud in here and I keep waiting for a nice person to come get me.  But each time I see someone, they walk right by and I'm still by myself. :(   Luckily, the shelter staff say I am one of their favorites, but they hope that someone will step up and adopt me very SOON so I can get out of here and to safety in a loving home!

Don't you think I would look really cute as your new Facebook cover photo, romping around in the sunshine and rolling in the spring grass!?  And how I'd love to snuggle up by you after a long hike.  I just really want to run, play, then snuggle, nap and dream of all the adventures we'll have together.  I would just LOVE trips to the dog park and hikes in the woods -- I love to discover new things!

Hunter is an awesome dog and makes friends with everyone he meets!  At around 3 years old, he will need lots of exercise to stay happy and healthy.

Hunter's new person or family will need to make sure he gets lots of socialization and playtime with other dogs and people to keep up the good social skills he has already!  And like all dogs we adopt out, he'll need to go to obedience classes to build a strong bond with his people, and help him become a well behaved companion or family member.  Hunter seems to like all the people he meets, and can't wait to wiggle his way into your heart and home.

Like most dogs, Hunter may need a refresher on his house training when he gets to a new home.  He will also need to go to obedience school so he can continue to be a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and e-mail it to at Sheila at sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP!
