Hi I am Chica! Pleased to meet you! I am a tiny lady who was in a scary shelter. I have no idea how I got there. But no worries, the good people of Lucky Dog have selected me to come up to the DC area to look for my forever family. I am in DC right now looking for my forever home! I am looking forward to impressing my new humans with my smarts by going to obedience classes. The other dogs in the scary shelter have told me so many things about the outside world. I have been told about belly rubs, toys, and dog parks which all sound like so much fun.
Overnight foster update:
"She's a great dog, definitely does not act like a typical chihuahua. She came out of transport smiling and happy, which as you both know is pretty rare for small dogs! I have two of my own dogs and she has done great with them. She's very sweet and will come up to you for scratches, but is also independent and is totally content chewing on a bone by herself. The only noise she's made so far is coming out of transport, she hasn't barked at all in my house. She must have been in a house before because she knows "sit" and seems to be familiar with house training. She also goes into her crate willingly without barking or crying.
Chic sounds like a perfect addition for almost any household! If your home needs a little Chica in it to make it complete, please contact the coordinator listed below (Cathy) with your application. (link also below) Because China is looking for her forever lap to curl up on!
Chica is good with other dogs so she’d be a great addition to an existing pack or happy to soak up all the attention as an only dog! We haven’t had a chance to see her interact with kids or cats yet, so if you have them just let us know, and we’ll do our best to find out!
Like most shelter dogs, Chica may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please FIRST download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Cathy at cathyd@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.
