BIJOU NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Bijou    Best Guess for Breed: Miniature Pinscher mix

Best Guess for Age: 2 years     SEX:  female

Approximate Weight: 23 lbs

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living with DC foster Bijou needs a forever home.

Cute, active, and friendly - that's Bijou, a dynamic personality wrapped up in a small package. Just look at that great big smile on her face! For those who aren't familiar with Miniature Pinschers, these dogs are known for being loyal and lively. Small in stature, these dogs are not couch potatoes.  Bijou will make sure you are a person about town because she will be eager to head out the door each day for long walks. At just 2-years old Bijou is at the adolescent stage and has plenty of energy to burn.

A typical min-pin would be about half the weight of Bijou so there are some other dog(s) mixed into this adorable little pooch. You just can't tell which ones by looking at Bijou. But think of it as getting the best of both worlds: the outgoing, energetic traits of the min-pin in a body that's sturdy enough to engage in some serious playtime. Bijou likes other dogs so trips to the local dog park or maybe some time at doggie daycare will make her very happy.

Bijou can live in a variety of settings, including apartments, so long as she receives daily exercise. Grooming her should be easy but be sure to have a coat or sweater ready for in the wintertime. Bijou's short fur won't provide much protection from the cold.

Like most shelter dogs, Bijou may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Bijou is good with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
