Rena

26-lb. 3-year old sweet female Beagle mix

RENA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Rena   Best Guess for Breed: Beagle mix

Best Guess for Age:  3 years    SEX:  female

Approximate Weight: 26 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: with a foster Rena needs a forever home.

Special adoption considerations:  barking could be an issue due to breed. Foster says she hasn't barked a lot so far.

Sweet little Beagle Rena needs someone who understands that beauty is only skin deep. You see, Rena is being treated for a common canine problem known as Demodex or Demodectic Mange. It leaves the poor dog red and patchy. Dogs with Demodex often lose fur but it usually grows back in a few months. Rena is taking medication and we think it won't be long before she is looking as good as new. Her foster said she isn't scratching much anymore

Loyal and loving, Beagles have warmed their way into America's hearts. These merry tricolored hounds with their long, soft ears are known for their gentle and friendly manner. They may be small but Beagles are very active. They love to walk and will go all over town with you. Rena will also appreciate some time at the dog park or possibly doggie daycare so she can get in a good run now and then. Just remember not to let her off-leash unless in an enclosed area as Beagles easily get distracted by whatever they can smell.

Rena will make a devoted companion, whether it's one person or a large family. Beagles are very social and like to be with people. Rena will be happy to snuggle up with you to watch television (and even happier if you let her have a little bite of your pizza). Puzzle games with food are a big hit with Beagles who use their powerful noses to find every hidden morsel.

Foster Notes: Rena is a very sweet tempered little girl. She loves all of her canine foster siblings and occasionally barks at them trying to get them to play! The world is filed with amazing smells and Rena loves going on walks to find them. She also enjoys a good snuggle while watching TV. Rena will be a wonderful family member and bring you many smiles and lmuch aughter with her goofy Beagle antics. She's a keeper!

Like most shelter dogs, Rena may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Rena gets along fine with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
