PENELOPE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Best Guess for Age: 8 weeks as of 6/15     SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: 10 lbs.

Has Lived With: Other dogs, kids and cats

Currently Living at: DC area foster.  Penelope needs a forever home!

Special adoption considerations: Penelope is a young puppy and will need someone who is home a lot to care for her.  Or someone who is able to hire a professional dog walker 2x plus a day until she is old enough for once a day. She will need to finish her vetting and be spayed at 6 months. This will be the adopter's responsibility and the rescue will require proof of completion. 

Meet Penelope, she is a beautiful 8 week old Shepherd/Terrier mix, and weights approximately 10 lbs. This little baby is obviously hoping to find her forever. She is dreaming of climbing onto a lap for cuddles and a nap! Then she will no doubt hop down to play, chew, eat, and run, before repeating all of the above again. This sweet girl is hoping that her new family will be there waiting for her in the DC area. Penelope is ready to be trained, snuggled and loved for the rest of her life.

Penelope loves to play and have lots of puppy wrestle sessions! She wants to be home and be able to go rompin' around in her very own yard smelling the pretty spring flowers!  And of course, like any good pup, I am soooo ready to learn to doggy paddle - can you teach me??!!  My dream would be long walks sniffing along, doggy parks, peanut butter kongs and a cozy bed to call all mine - I don't mind sharing with you!

Since I am soo young, I will be a big responsibility and take a lot of time, lookin' after and training.  I am a blank slate ready to be trained and molded into your perfect pup!  Penelope has lived with kids and cats.  

Penelope is not old enough to have had all of her vaccines.  It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time.  Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, she is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.   

Due to her young age, Penelope has not yet been spayed.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 10/15/2017.   

Like most puppies, Penelope will need to work on her housetraining. She will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog!
