Heeeeeeeeeey!! HAY! Well, Hiiiiiii-Howdy!! My name is Marina, and I am a 3-year-old, 52-pound Houndiest Hound mix. SO houndy! I know! I have a hard time resisting myself, too.

Now that I have your attention, what's the deal, Hoomans? I have been patiently waiting for my forever home, but for some reason, I'm having a LEEEEEETTLE bit of trouble getting noticed. Therefore, I have composed a list of skills and talents I've developed in my time here in boarding:

 1) If the smoke alarm goes off when you're cooking, I will make sure to toss my head back and howl along so you know it is going off, without a doubt... you know... just in case you didn't notice.

 2) Your small human has a dirty diaper? I'm on it, and will sniff their rear end in the most socially inappropriate manner I can, in order to let you know.

 3) Squirrels and groundhogs fear me; Chihuahuas want to BE me.

 4) The ground is my own bouquet of flowers; you will notice things about the world--and things I should not eat but will try to--like never before.

 5) No one listens better than a hound dog when you are having a bad day. Our faces are naturally sympathetic and appropriately sad-looking at all times.

I'm not sure how I'll do with cats or kids yet, but we can certainly find out if you've got 'em! Additionally, I can't wait for you to sign me up for some obedience classes. I'm a very scholarly girl and can't wait to show you how good and well-mannered I can be.

I know, I know, I know... this has all just been a crazy misunderstanding. So, fill out and submit your application today! I can't wait!!

From one of my volunteer dog walkers: Marina was pretty shy, didn’t want treats. She had some anxiety on the way back about crossing one of the streets so I picked her up to carry her across. After she was put down she continued the walk with no problem. She liked putting her head between fence posts of yards, seemed to want to go into buildings. I feel like she just needs a good consistent place to call home and then maybe she’d be able to relax.

Like most shelter dogs, Marina may need a refresher on house-training. She is likely crate trained.

Marina has tested positive and been treated for for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at lizk@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
