Hi! My name is Polpetta and I'm a 25 lb terrier mix, and about 7 months old. My life has been pretty exciting so far. I was on my own for a while and it was tough, I'm not gonna lie. But that's okay, you gotta take it as it comes. I've had some good luck, too. I heard about some lucky pups who leave the shelter and go to a place called DC. It sounded so great. I never thought it would happen to me.

But it's going to! It is! The nice people here are going to help me learn some manners and then one day I'll joined a bunch of other dogs and we'll all made the long trip to DC.

I just love to play and play until I can't hardly breath. I'm great at wrestling! I also love other dogs and hear that a dog park is a great place to go.

I've also heard that obedience classes are really fun and that if you work hard, you get lots of treats. I do love treats! I love toys as well. I really like to cuddle, too, and would sleep right next to you if I could.

I shouldn't go to a home with kids that are under 12 and I should only go to an experienced owner if there are other dogs in the house because I have some resource guarding.

What do you think? Do you want to meet me? I'm pretty special, if i do say so myself. The nice people at the shelter say that I'm pretty spunky. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I think it has something to do with having fun all the time. And I do. My whole life has changed for the better and I can't wait to see what the next chapter will bring. Maybe it will bring me to you?

Like most shelter dogs, Polpetta may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. She is good with other dogs, so she'd love to join a pack if you already have one, or she would be more than happy to soak up all the attention herself! Polpetta is also good with kids. She has not been around cats, but is willing to give it a try.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and transportation to DC. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Kristen at kristenn@LuckyDogAnimalRescue.org!
