Hi! Hi! Hi! My name is Coal, and I am a 2-year-old, 65-pound Labrador Retriever mix. Unfortunately, my owners had to give me up to a shelter down South. But I am the goodest boy, as you can see, and I can't wait to find a new forever home of my very own!

My shelter describes me as a typical Lab: I like romping. I like running and retrieving things. I like being in water. I like romping around some more. So, I'm the kind of boy who is going to need a lot of exercise--long walks, possibly a few runs here and there, and--of course!--tons of trips to the dog park so I can make lots of new doggie friends. And maybe you can make some new human friends! I don't mind! But after a long day of playing, I sure am looking forward to a nice cozy bed of my own... or I might try to take over your bed. We Labs are known for thinking we're a lot tinier than we actually are.

Because of my size and exuberance, it is not recommended that I go to a home with kids. I'm not sure how I'll do around cats, but we can find out if you have them. And, of course, I will need you to sign me up for some obedience classes right away so I can learn all my basic commands and how to be the best boy I can be. I need a LOT of help with my leash skills, in particular.

So, how's about it? Are you ready to welcome a good-natured boy like me into your life? Please fill out and submit an application for me today!

Like most shelter dogs, Coal may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.
