Approximate Weight: 44 lbs. 

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: A DC area boarding facility. Rufus needs a foster home, or better yet, forever home! 

Rufus is a 1 year old, 44 pound Lab/Shepherd mix who is in desperate need of a loving family. He doesn't know why he ended up all alone in a shelter, but he definitely doesn't belong there! Rufus is a very handsome young man with sweet soulful eyes. He is inquisitive and polite and very interested in his human. If you are looking for a best bud, look no further than Rufus!

He gets along well with other dogs so he would fit in well with an existing pack, or could be an only child and soak up all the attention. He would also greatly benefit from obedience school where he can master the techniques of being a good boy!

Rufus deserves a family that can show him what living the sweet life can be all about! He would love long walks, hiking, fetch, trips to the dog park, great toys, belly rubs, naps and kisses! That's a small price to pay for a lifetime of love in return isn't it?       

Like most shelter dogs, Rufus may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.
