Bae

18 month oll 21 lb. female Beagle mix

BAE NEEDS A  FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Bae    Best Guess for Breed: Beagle mix

Best Guess for Age: 1 to 2 years old    SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 21 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living with a foster, Bae needs a forever home.

Special adoption considerations: May be vocal due to breed.

Read beautiful Bae's story and you will understand what animal rescue is all about. This adorable little Beagle girl was found alone on the side of the road by a rescue volunteer in South Carolina. No identification. Nothing to suggest that anyone out there loved her or was concerned about her needs, until this wonderful volunteer came along.

That's when Bae's life began to change for the better because Bae is a now a Lucky Dog. For Bae the hard times are over and before long she will enjoy all the love and care that was missing from the beginning of her life. We just have to find her the right home! Could it be yours?

Bae's foster describes her as very sweet and adorable to watch, especially when she plays with toys. She gets along fine with other dogs and is calmly living with cats in her foster's home but has not yet been tested with kids. She is on the quiet side but not timid.

As a young dog Bae will need daily exercise. In addition to walks she'll enjoy spending time at the dog park or doggie daycare to stretch her legs and play with other dogs. Beagles are notorious for going in whatever direction their noses take them so be careful not to let Bae off-leash unless you are in a securely fenced area.

Obedience training will be very important to help Bae understand what you want her to do (or not do). Beagles are very independent so best to start training early and often. Fortunately these dogs are very food motivated so offering treats should go far in getting her attention.

Like most shelter dogs, Bae may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.  Beagles are known for being friendly and gentle but hardy enough to rough-house with. One website describes them as "merry little hounds that like to sniff, snack and snooze", which pretty much sums up the average Beagle's favorite activities list.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
