Blake

2-year old, 16 lb. male Dachshund mix

BLAKE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Blake   Best Guess for Breed: Dachshund mix

Best Guess for Age: 2 years    SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 16 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living with a foster, Blake needs a forever home.

Special adoption considerations: Cannot go to a home with children under the age of 12. May be vocal due to breed.

Blake is proof that good things really do come in small packages. This little guy weighs in a just 16 lbs. but he will bring a ton of joy into your life. Blake's a little unsure about what to expect from the world right now but he warms up once he knows he's around people he can trust. With those big puppy eyes Blake is sure to break many hearts.

Blake's a handsome guy, with a gorgeous brindle coat that gives him a unique look compared to your average wiener dog. Although he's small he will still need daily exercise but like most hound dogs should not be let off-leash unless he's in a confined area.

Blake's foster describes him as cuddly, gentle, and super sweet. He is very playful but then is happy to just chill out. Check out his video! Blake can jump pretty high with those short legs. Oh, and he sleeps through the night, another big plus.

Apartment dwellers should know that some, but not all, Dachshunds can be loud. A Dachshund barking from behind a door would lead someone to think there was a much bigger dog on the other side. Blake will benefit from some obedience classes. You'll have his attention if you break out the treats when asking him to practice his homework.

Like most shelter dogs, Blake may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained. Blake is fine with other dogs but has not been tested. Because he's a little skittish Blake cannot go to a home with children under age 12.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
