Currently Living at: Shelter. Monkey still needs a foster, or better yet, FOREVER home!

Well, hi there! My name's Monkey, and I'm a 1-2 year old, 28-pound Lab mix! I'm smiling so big in these photos because--guess what? I get to come to the DC area really, really soon to meet my new forever family! Might that be with you?

I'm still pretty young, so chances are good I'm going to need a LOT of exercise: long walks, regular trips to the dog park, and I might even like running or playing in water! Now that we are truly in the "dog days" of summer, playing in a sprinkler, creek, or even at the beach sounds wonderful! On the other hand, once I get myself all tuckered out, I sure am looking forward to crashing out for a nice, long nap. A bed of my own, the couch, the kitchen, maybe YOUR bed... any of these places would do nicely!

I'm not sure how I'll do with kids, yet, but we can find that out when I arrive in town. Additionally, I sure would appreciate it if you'd sign me up for some obedience classes. I am a sweet girl, but I could definitely use some help learning my commands, how to walk nicely on leash, and everything else I need to know to be a polite young lady and welcome addition to any gathering!

Like most shelter dogs, Monkey may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.
