FLASH NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!

Name:  Flash      Best Guess for Breed:  Yellow lab mix

Best Guess for Age:  5 months     SEX:  male

Approximate Weight:  25-30 lbs

Has Lived With:  dogs

Currently Living at:  a foster home in the DC metro area. Flash can't wait to find a forever family of his very own.

Meet Flash!  Flash is around 5 months old and around 25-30 lbs of puppy love!  Although he and his brother Zoom were abandoned through no fault of their own, that doesn't seem to bother them and they both have very sweet, friendly, happy demeanors.   Either one will be your BEST wiggly, kissy canine friend!  They are huggable, kissable, adorable kind of pups :-)

Flash loves to play...and will be an awesome addition to your life!  He's playful, energetic and affectionate.  He is a definitely a staff favorite at the shelter!  Flash can't wait to get out of the shelter and start a new, better life with someone who loves him!

Flash says...Hi there, everyone!

I really hope someone will come along to love me and give me a forever home soon!  I'm looking for someone to cuddle me close and tell me everything will be okay.  Are you that person?

I've heard a little about furever homes from some of the bigger dogs in the shelter. They sound like a dream come true!  I've heard you sometimes get your very own little bed and some toys to share and even some yummy treats. But I'm most looking forward to the cuddles and kisses and love.  I just can't wait for a family or person of our own to love with my whole puppy heart!

They say I am a very handsome boy, with a beautiful golden coat that's super-soft…great for everyone to pet me (hint hint). :-)  I weigh about 25-30 pounds (not too big), and I will probably get to be a medium-sized dog when I grow up.  That makes me a great size for an apartment, house or condo!!  They say I am probably some sort of lab mix…all I know is that I'm a happy pup and I love to play, get lots of pets, and give lots of doggie kisses!

Read below for more info on Flash, and email sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP if you're interested in him!

Flash says:  I don't know why, but somehow I ended up in this scary shelter.  It's dark and really loud in here.  I am waiting for a nice person to come get me, but each time I see someone, they would walk right by and my brother and I are still stuck in this cage by ourselves. :(   Luckily, the shelter staff said I was one of their favorites, and they hope that someone will step up and adopt me very SOON so I can get out of here and to safety in a loving home!

Don't you think I would look really cute as your new Facebook cover photo, romping around in the sunshine and rolling in the summer grass!?  And how I'd love to snuggle up by you after a long adventure or trip to the dog park.  I just really want to run, play, then snuggle, nap and dream of all the adventures we'll have together.  I would just LOVE trips to the park and hikes in the woods -- I love to discover new things!

Flash is an awesome little boy who loves making new human friends.  At around 5 months old, he will need lots and lots of exercise to stay happy and healthy!

Because of a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs of this age to homes where no one is home during the day.  So if you do work a 9-5 schedule, you would need to commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day until Flash is old enough. Thanks!

Flash's new person or family will need to make sure he gets lots of socialization and playtime with other dogs and people to keep up the good social skills he has already!  And like all dogs we adopt out, he'll need to go to obedience classes to build a strong bond with his people, and help him become a well behaved companion or family member.

Like most puppies, Flash will need to work on his house training when he gets to a new home.  He will also need to go to obedience school so he can continue to be a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and e-mail it to at Sheila at sheilam@luckydoganimalrescue.org ASAP!
