8/7/17: Scrappy is a credit to his name; this guy is such a funny pup with a huge personality, just look at that face!  I think that he would really like a puppy playmate to help keep him entertained and cuddle with.

He is a jumper and can be mouthy at times, so we are working on that, but he is young and eager to learn, and is the perfect age to set some boundaries and manners.  

We went to our first training class recently and he did great.  We worked on sit and stay on the mat. He is very treat motivated and focused on his trainer; Scrappy walked really nice on the leash during class.  We also worked on making the kennel a positive experience, because he doesn't currently like his time in the kennel at his foster home; he really just wants to be by his people.

Scrappy self-soothes well and looks for a toy or a bone to chew on. The bigger the bone, the better - I don't think he knows his own size :)

Scrappy is one of a kind and he is looking for his one and only family to take him home!

 

6/1/17: Hi there, I'm Scrappy! I'm an excitable young fella looking for a yard of my own to run around in. Don't let my photos fool you, I would prefer running to resting, but I do tire myself out! I get along well with dogs of all sizes, as long as they want to play with me. I'm learning to listen to the dogs who let me know they would rather not play, but it can take a few reminders.

 I will go potty outside when they let me out, but I'm still learning how to let them know I want to go out. I LOVE food so my foster mom keeps calling me 'trainable.'

Foster lady, thanks for helping save me, but that's a weird name. I strongly dislike being in a kennel and make my displeasure known for awhile, but if I have a tasty treat or bone, that will keep me busy. I'm an active dog and would fit best with an adopter who can give me exercise and structure to grow from a rowdy rescued puppy to a well-trained and much-loved family member.
