2 1/2 year old, 53 lb Aussie Shephard - Retriever mix
SASSY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Sassy Best Guess for Breed: Australian Shepherd - Retriever mix
Best Guess for Age: 2 1/2 years SEX: female
Approximate Weight: 53 lbs.
Has Lived With: other dogs
Currently Living at boarding Sassy needs a foster and a forever home.
Special adoption considerations: A strong and vibrant dog, Sassy will need a high level of daily exercise. She's ideal for someone who wants a dog for a running partner.
We don't know Sassy's story but one look at her soulful eyes and you can tell this girl is not where she wants to be. Sassy has lived in a home before and she would like nothing more than to experience the warmth and joy of knowing her next stop will be her last. Could you open your heart and home to this sweet dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side?
Sassy would be the ideal companion for someone who's athletic and wants to include their dog in daily workouts. She's a young, energetic dog who needs to be kept busy. There are many ways to keep Sassy happy, whether it's running with her new family or daily trips to a fenced-in dog park. Doggie daycare would be another great option, provided it's on a regular basis. The bottom line is you will not tire Sassy out easily so keeping her moving must be a part of your daily routine. As they say, a tired dog is a good dog.
Obedience training is a must to help Sassy be the best dog that she can be. She already walks well on a leash so you will be off to a great start. In addition to deepening the bond between you, having Sassy take part in obedience training will also provide her with mental stimulation. And think of all the fun you will have practicing your homework together after class!
Like most shelter dogs, Sassy may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Sassy is fine with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids.
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
