Well, hey there! I'm Orion, and I'm a 10-month-old, 50-pound Black Labrador mix! And I just found out I get to travel up to the DC area really soon to meet my new forever family! Isn't that great news? I think it's great news!

While I'm way past that baby dog stage, there's still a lot of puppy in me. I'm going to need a family that can be patient with me while I finish growing up, and who can take me out for a LOT of exercise! I'm going to need to be able to run around during frequent trips to the dog park or new neighborhood dog friends, go on long walks, and I'm at the perfect age to start learning my basic commands and manners. On the other hand, once you get me all tired out? There's nothing that sounds better than snoozing on your couch, your bed, your kitchen floor... and I guess I can take a little siesta in my own cozy dog bed sometimes, too!

Cats make me a little nervous and unsure, so if you have them, I may not be the best fit for your family. I'm not sure how I'll do with kids yet, but we can certainly figure that out when I roll on into town! Also, my shelter wants you to know I am NOT a fan of being on leash, so I'm definitely going to need to work on that as well as all my appropriate behaviors and training so I can show you what a very good boy I can be.

According to the trainer who helped evaluate me at my shelter (and who was very impressed with me), I am "crazy food motivated, and super smart. [I am] going to be super easy to teach."

So, are you thinking what I'm thinking? Please fill out and submit an application for me today!

Like most shelter dogs, Orion may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at lizk@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
