Come meet Ammo and other great adoptable cats this Sunday (Sep 3) from 12-2 pm at the Unleashed by Petco (5400 Lee Hwy, Arlington, VA 22207)!!!!!!

AMMO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Ammo   Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd mix

Best Guess for Age: 2 years     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 40 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs and cats

Currently Living with a foster Ammo needs a forever home.

Despite having a tough start in life, this handsome boy holds no grudges. Part of a cruelty case, Ammo is a well-socialized dog who just wants to be loved and know that he has a lifelong place to lay his head at night. Welcome him into your home and Ammo will repay you with his loyalty, devotion, and sunny outlook on life.

A medium-sized Shepherd mix, Ammo will fit in well in most homes provided he gets enough daily exercise. Ammo loves his morning walks but then is content to play with some toys or just bask in the sunlight. Having having lived with other dogs he will appreciate having some canine companionship, whether that's another dog in the house, friends at the dog park, or getting to spend some time in doggie daycare.

Ammo is active but according to his foster not excessively so. He likes to cuddle and sleeps well in his crate but doesn't like being left alone in there while everyone is out of the house. Ammo would love to find someone who will be with him a good part of the day.

Obedience class is very important so that Ammo can become the best dog he can be. Having a dog that's well-trained makes life much easier for everyone. Helping Ammo practice his homework will not only set him up for success but will also strengthen the bond between you.

Like most shelter dogs, Ammo may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained. He's come along way in both his housetraining and leash walking since first arriving on transport last week. Ammo gets along fine with other dogs and just loves the two cats in his foster's home but has not yet been tested with kids.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
