Can Ryan share your Pumpkin Spice Latte?

Come meet Ryan and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (DEC 17) from 12-2 pm  at the Bailey's Crossroads Petco (5825 Leesburg Pike, Baileys Crossroads, VA)!!!!!!

RYAN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Ryan    Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Shepherd mix

Best Guess for Age: 10-12 months as of 9/6/17     SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 50 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: DC foster

Special Adoption Considerations: We prefer Ryan to go to a home with another dog to help build his confidence and show him how wonderful, and not scary, life can be! However, if you are committed to socializing him with other pups as much as possible, that would work too!

Ryan is a 10 - 12 month old, 50 pound lab/shepherd mix who is in desperate need of a loving family. He doesn't know why he ended up all alone in a shelter, but he definitely doesn't belong there!

Ryan is absolutely HANDSOME with those eyes yet full of personality with that one floppy ear! He would look great walking next to you through the city while you find an outdoor brunch spot, would love to join you on those weekend hikes you love so much, or maybe play in the yard with the kids.

He gets along well with other dogs so he would fit in well with an existing pack, or could be an only child and soak up all the attention. He is still very young so he will need A LOT of exercise and socialization. Lots of running off leash, playing with other dogs, and attention will keep this boy happy and healthy. He would also greatly benefit from obedience school where he can master the techniques of being a good boy! Whatever your lifestyle, Ryan just wants to be a part of it!

***Foster Update!!!

"Ryan came to us very shy and quiet. He's blossomed into a curious and happy dog over the past few weeks. His hobbies include prancing around the yard, playing with his toys, going hiking, cruising around in the car, visiting his canine buddies at the dog park, and spending quality time with humans at home and out on the town. He has the run of the yard and staked out a spot under a big maple for his collection of toys. We taught him how to walk up stairs and after exploring the house likes to follow his foster dad around. Ryan is easy on a leash and we end the day with a nice evening walk. After our evening walk we snuggle up together to watch TV. His crate remains his safe spot and he is comfortably at “home” for the night or when his foster humans go out.

He loves to sit at the local coffee shop and meet all the passersby. He's gentle with children and joyfully accepts pets from anyone who will give them. Ryan is absolutely great with the other dogs--huge, tiny, young, old, he doesn't care! He is thrilled with whichever pups want to play with him. He would make an excellent companion to another dog. He doesn't mind being the center of attention either!

We are working on sit, stay, come and it will be fun for Ryan and his new family to learn new commands and tricks. It’s been wonderful seeing Ryan start his new life discovering the joys of being a dog. But there’s a lot more to be had that Ryan wants share with his new family."

Like most shelter dogs, Ryan may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Lauren at laurenm@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
