Sweet Gal Ready for her Forever Fam!

SERAPHINA NEEDS A FOSTER OR A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Seraphina    Best Guess for Breed: LAB/TERRIER Mix

Best Guess for Age: 2 years     SEX: female

Approximate Weight: 52lbs

Has Lived With: Dogs, kids

Currently Living at: DC Boarding. Seraphina needs a foster or a forever home.

Special adoption considerations: Seraphina came to Lucky Dog on 9/9 as part of an emergency evacuation from Jacksonville, Florida in advance of Hurricane Irma's arrival.  We are so grateful to all of the wonderful donors and volunteers who made this transport possible!

Seraphina is a beautiful, energetic gal.  She would do amazing in a home who wants to take her for runs or who can take her to the dog park for her daily exercise.  She is just learning about toys -- but we are sure that she will be a toy-playing champion very soon.  She is incredibly affectionate and tries to "hug" her people.

Seraphina is very good with other dogs.  We don't know how she will do with cats -- we could do a cat test if that is needed.

Foster Update: She is fine with my kids (two boys, ages 9 and 6), but doesn't seem too interested in interacting with them. The first two nights I had her she cried in her crate for a long time before settling down.  Last night she didn't make a peep.   She walks well on a leash and doesn't pull too much.

She is extremely food motivated and gets super exited when I take out a treat bag.  Almost too excited to hear any commands.

I haven't seen any food guarding problems with her.  She lets me stroke her back while she's eating, and I can pick up her food bowl and move it around no problem.  I feed Seraphina and my dog separately, so I'm not sure how she'd react to another dog being near while she's eating.

I think Seraphina will make someone a wonderful, loyal pet.  She is very affectionate and wants to be near her person all the time, and loves to give kisses and get belly rubs.

Like most shelter dogs, Seraphina may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Meg at megh@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
