CAL NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Cal   Best Guess for Breed: Beagle mix

Best Guess for Age: 4 years old    SEX: male

Approximate Weight:  22 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: the shelter, Cal needs a foster and a forever home.

Special adoption considerations: Could be noisy due to breed.

How do I begin to tell all the great things about Cal? For one, just look at that happy face and big smile. At about 22 lbs. he's not big but he's also not small - just the right size no matter where you live. Cal's past the bouncy puppy stage but as a young adult he has plenty of energy to keep up with you.

Cal's a sweet boy who knows how to sit and perform some tricks on command. Want Cal to beg? Just ask him! While Cal already has a few tricks up his sleeve he will benefit from professional training to learn how to be the best dog he can be.Training with Cal should be fun because like most Beagles he is very food motivated. So just keep those treats coming.

Originally bred to hunt rabbits, Beagles are amazing little dogs. They can walk for hours and never get tired of sniffing the ground along the way. Cal will need the opportunity to run and stretch his legs but with Beagles this must be done in a secure, fenced-in area. Beagles are famously scent-oriented so the aroma of a left-over pizza slice three blocks away will command all their attention.

Like most shelter dogs, Cal may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained. Cal gets along great with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids. If either of those matter to you let us know.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
