Hi, Y'all! My name's Chester, and I'm a 5-month-old, 30 pound Shepherd mix. Somehow, I got all wrapped up in all that Harvey nonsense in Houston, and found out if I wanted to make it out alive, well, I needed to make it out alive! So, I'm on my way (by way of San Antonio, Texas) to the DC area, and I'm all business. Heck, I even put on a tie to let you know how serious I am: I need a forever home, you guys. Maybe with you?

I am a YOUNG boy, and so although I will have moments when I am dead tired and likely to pass out in inconvenient places around your house, for the most part, I'm going to need serious exercise. Long walks, trips to the dog park 2-3x/week (maybe more!), and if you're a runner, that sounds awesome to me! I can't wait to check out this "fall color" I keep hearing about (that's not really a thing in Houston), and to check out all the great holiday stuff that's happening up in your part of the country! Woohoo!

I'm not sure how I'll do with cats or kids, yet, but we can figure that out when I get to town. Additionally, I can't wait for you to sign me up for a puppy obedience class, as I need to learn how to walk nicely on leash, all my basic commands and manners, and to show you what a polite young man I can be!

Chester is not old enough to have had all of his vaccines.  It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time.  Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, he is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.   

Like most puppies, Chester will need to work on his housetraining. Chester will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog!
