BENTON NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Benton   Best Guess for Breed: Cattle Dog mix

Best Guess for Age: 6 months    SEX: male

Approximate Weight: 25 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at DC Boarding

Young Benton is only 6-months old but is already off to a great start. He's excited to be here in the nation's capitol to look for someone who will make him part of their family. This tail wagging little guy knows better things are yet to come.

Described by the folks at the shelter as super sweet, Benton already knows some manners and is eager to learn more. He walks well on a leash, something his new family will appreciate each and every day. Deep in his heart Benton wants to be a lapdog which may prove challenging when he's fully grown but for now he's just the right size to snuggle with. Benton is great with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids.

Cattle dogs are known for their energy, hard work ethic and smarts. Benton will want to keep busy so be prepared to offer him plenty of exercise. Mental stimulation is important as well so look for toys and puzzles that will keep his mind engaged.Right now Benton's hanging out in boarding where he gets to play, play, play all day long. This suits him just fine so anyone wanting to bring him home should be prepared to keep him busy.

Like most puppies, Benton will need to work on his housetraining. Benton will also need to go to obedience school so he can grow into a well-socialized dog! At this stage Benton's an open book so now is the ideal time to begin serious training.

The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
