Hello, my name is Fifi and I'm a 15 week old, 21 pound, as of 11/6/17, female, shepherd mix puppy. My brothers and sisters and I are waiting patiently for our forever homes. Our foster home is great, but we'd love to have homes of our very own. We were really excited to come to DC and hopefully find someone to love us, but we're kind of nervous, too. Everything is so big and new and different! We're looking for someone to cuddle us close and tell us everything will be okay. Are you that person?

Foster Mom Notes: Fifi is a sweet natured little girl who loves to run and play and chew toys and have fun with other dogs or her people. Her house training is coming along nicely, though she does have to go outside often as she is still very young. But if you take her out often she will try and hold it. She can make it all night now!  Fifi will sit pretty for a treat. If you want a snuggle friend to cuddle with for a nap she's your girl!  She also loves squeaky toys and lying on the grass in the sun. Fifi has beautiful markings to match her lovely disposition. She will make a great family member for most homes. Fifi is waiting to come home, for forever. If you choose her she will reward you with laughs, butt wiggles and unlimited unconditional love.

We've heard a little about forever homes from some of the bigger dogs in the shelter. They sound like a dream come true! We've heard you sometimes get your very own little bed and some toys to share and even some yummy treats. But we're most looking forward to the cuddles and kisses and love. We just can't wait for a family or person of our own to love with our whole puppy hearts!

We're pretty little still, so we'll need some help learning the ropes. We can do it though, we're really smart and we just want to make you happy and proud of us. We think puppy kindergarten at an obedience school sounds really great. We think we'd like nice long walks and trips to the dog park, too, if it's not too much to ask. Do you think you can help us navigate this great big new world?

Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day.

Fifi is not old enough to have had all of her vaccines. It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, she is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Due to her young age, Fifi has not yet been spayed.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 01/7/18.   

Like most puppies, Fifi will need to work on her housetraining. She will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog!
