Let's Hug it out

HUGSY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Hugsy    Best Guess for Breed: Beagle mix

Best Guess for Age: 2 1/2 years old   SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: 35 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs (including giant breed dog), and infants

Currently Living at DC area foster

Special adoption considerations: Some, but not all, Beagles can be quite vocal.

Hiyas people! They call me Hugsy because I LOVE to give hugs and cuddle. While I like to be playful my favorite thing in the world is to be petted and loved on by humans. I get along with other dogs including the 136lb Great Dane and 35lb beagle in my foster home. I also enjoy sneaking kisses from the 9 month old tiny human that lives in my foster home.

I'd love a family to take me for nice long walks in the crisp fall air. And of course we'd come home and snuggle under the covers. I already know how to sit and shake, I like treats but take them gently. I think bones and stuffed toys are great. Bottom line I need a family that is looking to be loved as much as I need to be loved. Is that you?

Like most shelter dogs, Hugsy may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Hugsy is good with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids.

Hugsy has tested positive and been treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Tanya at tanyab@luckydoganimalrescue.org.
