Name: Athena Best Guess for Breed: DSH/Diluted Torti
Best Guess for Age: 6 Weeks as of 10/7 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 1 lb 1 oz Coloring: Gray and Diluted Tortie Pattern
Has Lived With: Mom and siblings in foster care Type of Hair: Short and Fluffy
Currently Living at: Foster home in NC with siblings and mom
Special adoption considerations: Athena will come to DC on 10/28 and at that time will have had at least two FVRCP shots and possibly a third if old enough at that time. She is FIV/ FELV negative and will be microchipped. She will not have been spayed or have had her rabies shot yet and that will need to be provided by the adopter. Do note the first year of a kitty's life costs a bit more so do look into vet costs and be sure it is something you are comfortable with.
Athena is a sweet little girl who is growing so big and fast in her short six weeks of life. Her NC foster says, " Athena is beautiful dilute calico with her peach, cream and grey on her face but the rest of her body is mostly grey with peach hair sprinkled in. She is very playful and love to stick with her sister Alani. They are both very curious and love to climb and explore. They also enjoy cuddle time as well and are quick to purr." Her mommy Azure was surrendered to the shelter already pregnant and the shelter took in the whole crew and have helped provide care for this family since then. Athena is living in a foster home nearby in NC and will come to DC on 10/28 once she is big enough to travel. The foster says for so young they are all very social. They have been handled a lot by their foster so that they get used to humans and enjoy being held. They are also still nursing but will be weaned off by the time they come up to DC. If you are ready to welcome a little baby kitty into your life reach out to Athena's adoption coordinator to start the adoption process!
The adoption fee for this cat is $150 ($275 for two cats or kittens adopted together), which includes the cost of routine vetting. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Kayla at KaylaH@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
