Currently Living at: A scary shelter in South Carolina and needs a loving foster, or better yet, forever home when she arrives to DC!

Spectra is a 10-12 month old, 40 pound Border Collie mix who is in desperate need of a loving family. She doesn't know why she ended up all alone in a shelter, but she definitely doesn't belong there!

Spectra is very pretty with unique white markings and sweet, soulful eyes. She would look great walking next to you through the city while you find an outdoor brunch spot, would love to join you on a weekend hike through the beautiful fall leaves, or maybe play in the yard with the kids. She gets along well with other dogs so she would fit in well with an existing pack, or could be an only child and soak up all the attention. 

Spectra is a youngster who will need A LOT of exercise to keep her happy and healthy. Border Collies are known for their energy and desire to be on the go, so she will do best with a runner or a very active family that will make sure she gets lots of play time! Once she is nice and tuckered out from all that action, she will surely love to curl up and enjoy quiet time! Spectra would also greatly benefit from obedience school where she can master the techniques of being a good girl! Whatever your lifestyle, Spectra just wants to be a part of it! 

Like most shelter dogs, Spectra may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.
