Meet Wheaton! This handsome guy is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix, weighing approximately 50 pounds. Wheaton found himself at the shelter through no fault of his own and is looking for a forever family to give him the love and attention he deserves!
Wheaton is a youngster so he is a lively and playful dog, and will require an active family that can keep up with him and will provide him with PLENTY of exercise and playtime (he is a shepherd after all!). He will need both mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis to keep him happy and healthy. An adopter who works full time would need to commit to having a midday dog walker for him during the week. He would love to go on long walks, hikes, and take trips to the dog park so he can socialize with his canine friends. And of course, upon returning home, he'd love to shower his new forever family with tons of kisses and cuddles!
Wheaton gets along well with other dogs so he'd be a great addition to an existing pack – or he'd be happy to soak up all the attention as an only dog! We haven't had a chance to see him interact with cats or kids yet. If you have them, let us know, and we'll do our best to find out! Wheaton is like a giant puppy right now and needs to be given the opportunity to learn what to do, so he is looking forward to attending obedience school to hone in his doggie manners and impress his new family.
Wheaton will make a great companion and family member; you won’t regret opening your heart and home to this sweet boy!
Like most shelter dogs, Wheaton may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Lauren at laurenm@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
