Well, hi there! My name's Ruth, and I am a 3-year-old, 50-pound Labrador mix--but you could probably tell that just from looking at me! I'm a super sweet girl, so when I found out I was headed to DC to find a forever family, well, let's just say my tag hasn't stopped wagging yet!

Although I'm past a lot of my crazy puppy shenanigans, I'm still going to need a lot of exercise to stay happy and healthy! I can't wait for you to take me on long walks, maybe to the dog park a few times a week, and--who knows?--I might like running, too! On the other hand, after a long day of hiking through pretty fall leaves or playing, I sure am looking forward to some nice long naps on your sofa... your bed... or maybe even my own bed!

I'm not sure how I'll do with cats or kids yet, but we can figure that out when I get to town! Also, I'm super looking forward to you signing me up for some obedience classes so I can show you what a well-behaved and good girl I can be.

So, are you ready for a goofy girl like me to come bouncing on into your life? Fill out and submit an application for me today!

Like most shelter dogs, Ruth may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

Ruth has tested positive and has been treated for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Liz K. at lizk@luckydoganimalrescue.org!

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.  That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament
