Special adoption considerations:  He is not great with cats, if the cat is confident and does not run away he is ok, but if the cat runs he will chase. He is also heartworm positive, but was treated on 9/28 and 9/29. 

Bark, bark! Hi! I'm Alex and I am a 1-year-old, 41 pound shepherd mix just looking for my forever family. I have not yet hit the DC area but the nice people at the shelter have told me it's filled with lots of fun things to do. 

As a young boy, I would love to go for long walks, hikes, and hit the dog park as much as I can. I'll be on my best behavior if I'm a tired boy, and I have a lot of energy to get out. Once I'm tired though, I can't wait to snuggle up with my new family on the couch and give you lots of kisses! 

I am not great with cats, but I do ok if the cat won't run away from me. If it does, I will chase them and that's not good. I am great with kids, but since I am a bigger boy I may inadvertantly knock one over if they are too little. 

Will you be my forever family? 

Like most shelter dogs, Alex may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.
