Roxy's Ready for her Forever Home!

ROXY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Roxy     Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Mastiff Mix

Best Guess for Age:   3 years old as of 10/17    SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: 60 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at: DC foster

Roxy is a beautiful 3-year-old Lab/Mastiff mix. She weighs about 60 lbs and, because of her age, is done growing. We don't know how this sweet girl ended up in a shelter but it hasn't dampened her spirits one bit and she can't wait to meet her forever family!

Roxy will need plenty of exercise and playtime each day to be a happy and healthy pup. She would love to go on daily long walks, hikes and regular trips to the dog park. After she's tuckered out, Roxy loves cuddling up for a nice nap and A belly rub. She can't wait to go to obedience training with her new family so that she can bond with her people and become her very best self!

Roxy is good with other dogs and little kiddos so she'd be a great addition to an existing pack or happy to soak up all the attention as an only dog. She would do best in a home without cats.

Like most shelter dogs, Roxy may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

Foster Update: Roxy is so sweet and very chill. She's a total cuddle bug and thinks she's a lap dog. She is great about coming when she called and getting off the couch when she's instructed to. She also loves kids. We had a friend's 2-year-old over and she lit up when he got there and she was super gentle with him.

Roxy tested positive and has been treated for for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Meg at Megh@luckydoganimalrescue.org!
