Meet Mesquite! This 10-month-old pup can't wait to make his way to D.C. and find his forever family! At approximately 45 lbs, Mesquite is a sweet dog who is dreaming of a family that will walk him, play with him, train him and teach him how to be a well-behaved pup. Mesquite is high-energy and will need a healthy amount of play each day. He's the perfect companion for an active adopter. If you love to go on walks, runs, and to throw a ball at the dog park, he is your guy!

Once Mesquite burns off his silly puppy energy, he can't wait to settle into a soft, warm bed and soak in some snuggles and belly rubs. We don't know how he does with kids or cats yet, but can find out if you have either in your pack!

Like most shelter dogs, Mesquite may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.
