DEENA NEEDS YOUR HELP! Her limbs are not growing properly. Despite two surgeries, she still struggles to walk -- and her legs are growing at odd angles. Special adoption considerations:  no young children because of size. Deena will need someone with dog experience who doesn’t mind her physical limitations and is willing to work with her to help her become the physically strong little girl that she already thinks she is! Deena may still need some additional surgery and medical care.

This sweet baby girl is a fighter! After a rough beginning she is now ready to find her perfect forever home! A home where she is cared for, played with, trained and loved ...for forever.

Deena had been dumped in a kill shelter in SC all by herself where she almost died not being able to eat or move.  Our amazing volunteers discovered her and bottle fed her.  Her legs are very bowed and one is crooked.  Her foster has been splinting it to get it to straighten....  that said, she can go for several days without her splint on.  Then she wears it for a day or two again and then it can then come off.  She needs an adopter prepared to deal with possible physical issues and to give her lots of love and encouragement.

Foster Note:  She is super smart and spunky. She observes everything that is happening around her.  She loves to cuddle on the couch and burrow under blankets. She adores her dog and cat foster siblings. She also loves her supper and is crazy for cheese. She likes fuzzy toys that make sounds. Her favorite is a hedgehog she likes to wrestle and toss. 

Deanna is not old enough to have had all of her vaccines.  It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time.  Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, she is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.   

Due to her young age, Deena has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 3/15/18    

Like most puppies, Deena will need to work on her housetraining. Deena will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog!
